Electoral Process - Fair? Outdated? Perfect? Justified?
Weightage of a vote -
Does my (a common man’s) vote weigh as much as The Vote of (Hon’ble Mr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, or Hon’ble Mr. Manmohan Singh, or Your’s - if You are a Physician, or a Scientist or an IAS Officer?
Of course not.
Casting a vote: Just press a button and they rule for 5 years…?
Is it perfect? No… No way!
You are only used to it, accustomed to it.
You never learnt to fight back.
You never learnt to raise a voice.
You never knew that you could answer in more than just YES/NO
Polling System 50 years old:
A voter is more educated than he was 50 years ago.
Democracy is more experienced than it was 50 years ago.
Why do we still have the same procedure of electing a leader?
A team Vs Parliament-
How you choose team members for an organisation?
How you choose a sports team?
What is the criteria of choosing someone? Number of votes or Performance?
Why different parties? Its OK to form parties. But why giving conditional or unconditional support?
Why negotiation of deals in terms of support to form a government?
Did you elect a candidate for negotiation of any deal in the parliament? or for asking questions in the parliament?
Vote Vs Score -
Did you pass your exams by votes or by marks?
Why vote instead of marks?
Why parties if we can have the candidates who obtain highest marks?
Why more than 50% seats if we can have the support of candidates aggregating to more than 50% marks?
Constituency Vs Favoritism
What if a constituency has a low literacy ratio?
Why local constituencies, if it poses a threat of booth capturing, bogus voting, vote hijacking etc.?
Why not 2 supplementary elections i.e. (Local + State) & (Local + National)?
Why a politician becomes a minister who is only elected by his local constituency, he may not be favorite of the rest of the state or nation?
Do You approve Laloo as a minister or even as a member of parliament?
I am sure, he fails to qualify on national level.
Do you approve of his negotiation of a deal to offer support in exchange of Railway Ministry? Though, he may have performed fair enough, but only to save his face. And he is ambitious to become PM. Do you think he is eligible?
I am sure, majority of nation does not approve him.

I think you raise right issue but in wrong direction. In my views the main problem in the current system is that we (citizen of India) do not cast our vote wisely. even some of elite person do not like to cast vote.
We do not accomplish our duties then how we can blame the system for erroneous management.
In my views, a particular person become minister because he elected by the people.
Why we ignore the right candidate in the election????
Before changing the eletoral system we have to change ourself… !!! otherwise whichever model we adopt the result will be same…

I admire Mr. Saurabh for addressing the problem.
It is asserted here that neither I am the most intelligent person nor am I designated to suggest solutions. I only cited problems and flaws and published here.
The major problem with people of India is, they are given a choice to cast a vote. This blog is dedicated to people of India, letting them raise a voice.
It makes a big difference in giving a vote and giving a voice.
We expect people to speak up, rather than reading lots of articles & comments.
Express your self… Just express yourself. We need fedback.
Let the Nation know what it wants. Let us know what people want. The final results will be taken to higher authorities.
I shall be publishing more topics very soon.
